Our Literacy program is underpinned by the LEM Phonics programme and Phonemic Awareness lessons plans, designed to ensure that children develop the foundational skills for literacy including phonological and phonemic awareness, motor skills, print concepts and oracy.
Our mathematics program is guided by our Maths philosophy. Students learn to apply mathematical concepts through natural real life events. This allows students to see real world application of mathematics. Students develop fluency and understanding of mathematical concepts in order to apply these skills to problem solving and reasoning tasks. Students develop their ability to problem solve and reason through problematised situations, challenging unfamiliar problems that involve a number of steps and strategies. Students explain their thinking, when they deduce and justify strategies used and conclusions reached.
In prep we study the following curriculum areas: English, Maths, Science, History, Geography. Our students participate in specialist lessons including; Music in our Creative Arts building and Physical Education with our experienced Physical Education Teacher.
